The Company's principal activities of marketing gastroenterology-related pharmaceutical products and services are geared towards the treatment of symptoms in a number of gastrointestinal diseases and disorders, such as inflammatory bowel disease, cholestatic liver diseases, irritable bowel syndrome, and complications related to pancreatic insufficiency. During its history, Axcan has actively targeted and acquired products and companies in North America and Europe, and primarily focuses its operations within these geographic regions.
